MY story

My love for handmade jewellery began as a 12 year old when my aunt introduced me to beading. The different colours, sizes and textures of beads excited me. I enjoyed crafting unique items for people that will last a lifetime filled with memories. As the years went by, I decided to turn my 12 year old passion into a business where I create unique and special handcrafted items for others.

ALMAZ is a small handmade jewellery business that focuses on bringing you unique jewellery crafted with elegance that will last a lifetime. Each item is beaded with so much care and attention to fine detail. I hope that you love our jewellery as much as I  love making them.

ALMAZ, a 12 year old dream turned into a 21 year old reality.

The history behind the name:

ALMAZ means diamond in the Arabic language. After going through many potential names for my business, I decided that I wanted to give my store an Arabic name. Many hours was spent google translating many synonyms of the word jewellery, until I finally found a name that I fell in love with. Funny enough, this name has sentimental value in my family. As a small child, my dad would play the song Almaz by Randy Crawford quite often. At the time, my mum was into video editing and created a video with many baby pictures of me using this song.
